In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel called on Ernest Beaux to create "a woman's perfume with a woman's scent," intense and original. The nose proposed a visionary composition involving an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle favored the number 5 version of the fragrance, and decided to keep this number as its simple name. The innovative scent of the perfume, as well as its name and its bottle, of rare simplicity, revolutionized the history of perfumery.
Inspired by the silky harmony of rose and jasmine that composes N°5, the soap was formulated to voluptuously bring the floral bouquet of N°5 to life.
